There are seven areas covered by the early learning goals and educational programmes:-

Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS)
 

All Schools and Early Years providers have to follow a structure of learning development and care from birth to five years old.  This is called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and it enables your child to learn through a range of activities.

None of these areas of Learning and Development can be delivered in isolation from the others.  They are equally important and depend on each other to support a rounded approach to child development.  All of the areas must be delivered through planned, purposeful play, with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities.

The EYFS ensures:

• Children learn through play
• Providers work closely with parents
• You are kept up to date on your child’s progress
• The welfare, learning and all-round development of children with different backgrounds and levels of ability, including those with special education needs and disabilities

Activities at Ardleigh Pre-School will be carefully planned, by observing the children in order to understand and consider their current interest, development and learning and the schedules and routines of the daily session will flow with the needs of the children.
